After Larry Neal’s service in VIET NAM he came home to Lubbock to live the life of TRUE FREEDOM in America.
Larry once told me (Jerry Kitten) about how he and one of his buddies held off the enemy for hours. Trapped in a ravine by the airport with one rifle and one buddy who crawled many yards to retrieve ammo without which they both would not have lived to the end of the day. With that one weapon held only by Larry and several boxes of ammo they survived because again Larry had more work to do in Lubbock and Slaton. I asked Larry how many? He turned,, gritting his teeth, and simply said: could not count…
